《Pretty Boy Floyd》歌词

Pretty Boy Floyd

[00:00:02] Pretty Boy Floyd -Ramblin' Jack Elliott

[00:00:30] Come gather round me children, a story I will tell

[00:00:39] Of Pretty Boy Floyd, an outlaw, Oklahoma knew him well.

[00:00:52] Was in the town of Shawnee on a Saturday afternoon

[00:01:01] His wife beside him in the wagon as into town they rode.

[00:01:14] A deputy sheriff approached them in a manner rather rude

[00:01:23] Using vulgar words of language and his wife she overheard.

[00:01:30] Well, Pretty Boy grabbed a log chain, and the deputy grabbed a gun

[00:01:38] And in the fight that followed, he laid that deputy down.

[00:02:05] Then he took to the trees and rivers to lead a life of shame.

[00:02:20] Every crime in Oklahoma was added to his name.

[00:02:33] Yes he took to the trees and timbers on the Canadian river shore,

[00:02:43] And the outlaw found a welcome at many a farmer's door.

[00:02:56] Yes, there's many a starving farmer, the same story told

[00:02:59] How the outlaw paid their mortgage and saved their little home.

[00:03:02] Others tell about the stranger who came to beg a meal

[00:03:03] And underneath the napkin left a thousand dollar bill.

[00:03:09] It was in Oklahoma City, it was on a Christmas day

[00:03:19] Came a whole carload of groceries and a letter that did say,

[00:03:26] "Well, you say that I'm an outlaw, and you say that I'm a thief.

[00:03:33] Here's a Christmas dinner for the families on relief."

[00:03:42] Well, as through the world I've rambled, I've seen lots of funny men,

[00:03:53] Some rob you with a sixgun, some with a fountain pen.

[00:04:04] As through this world you ramble, as through this world you roam,

[00:04:14] You'll never see an outlaw drive a family from its home.
