[00:00:43] There was no wrecks nobody drownded

[00:00:50] So seeking for further amusement

[00:00:53] They paid and went into the zoo

[00:00:56] Where they'd lions and tigers and cam els

[00:00:59] And old ale and sandwiches too

[00:01:03] There were one great big lion called Wallace

[00:01:07] His nose were all covered with scars

[00:01:11] He lay in a som no lent posture

[00:01:14] With the side of his face to the bars

[00:01:18] Now Albert had heard about lions

[00:01:20] How they were ferocious and wild

[00:01:24] And to see Wallace lying so peaceful

[00:01:27] Well it didn't seem right to the child

[00:01:31] So straight way the brave little feller

[00:01:34] Not showing a morsel of fear

[00:01:37] Took is stick with the orse's ead andle

[00:01:41] And pushed it in Wallace's ear

[00:01:44] You could see that the lion didn't like it

[00:01:48] For giving a kind of a roll

[00:01:51] He pulled Albert inside the cage with im

[00:01:55] And swallowed the little lad whole

[00:01:59] Then Pa who had seen the occurrence

[00:02:02] And didn't know what to do next

[00:02:05] Said Mother Yon lions et Albert

[00:02:10] And Mother said Eeh I am vexed

[00:02:16] So Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom

[00:02:18] Quite rightly when all's said and done

[00:02:21] Complained to the Animal Keeper

[00:02:24] That the lion had eaten their son

[00:02:27] The keeper was quite nice about it

[00:02:31] He said What a nasty mishap

[00:02:34] Are you sure that it's your lad he's eaten

[00:02:38] Pa said Am I sure There's his cap

[00:02:43] So the manager had to be sent for

[00:02:46] He came and he said What's to do

[00:02:49] Pa said Yon lion's eaten our Albert

[00:02:52] And im in his Sunday clothes too

[00:02:56] Then Mother said Right's right young feller

[00:03:00] I think it's a shame and a sin

[00:03:02] For a lion to go and eat Albert

[00:03:05] And after we've paid to come in

[00:03:09] The manager wanted no trouble

[00:03:11] He took out his purse right away

[00:03:15] And said How much to settle the matter

[00:03:18] And Pa said What do you usually pay

[00:03:21] But Mother had turned a bit awkward

[00:03:24] When she thought where her Albert had gone

[00:03:27] She said No someone's got to be summonsed

[00:03:31] So that were decided upon

[00:03:34] Round they went to the Police Station

[00:03:37] In front of a Magistrate chap

[00:03:40] They told im what happened to Albert

[00:03:42] And proved it by showing his cap

[00:03:45] The Magistrate gave his o pinion

[00:03:49] That no one was really to blame

[00:03:53] He said that he hoped the Ramsbottoms

[00:03:55] Would have further sons to their name

[00:04:00] At that Mother got proper blazing

[00:04:03] And thank you sir kindly said she

[00:04:06] What waste all our lives raising children

[00:04:10] To feed ruddy lions Not me
