1900 (Carta a Anton Tchekhov)

[00:03:01] I was riding on the Mayflower

[00:03:01] When I thought I spied some land

[00:03:01] I yelled for Captain Arab

[00:03:01] I have yuh understand

[00:03:01] Who came running to the deck

[00:03:01] Said, "Boys, forget the whale

[00:03:01] Look on over yonder

[00:03:01] Cut the engines

[00:03:01] Change the sail

[00:03:01] Haul on the bowline"

[00:03:01] We sang that melody

[00:03:01] Like all tough sailors do

[00:03:01] When they are far away at sea

[00:03:01] "I think I'll call it America"

[00:03:01] I said as we hit land

[00:03:01] I took a deep breath

[00:03:01] I fell down, I could not stand

[00:03:01] Captain Arab he started

[00:03:01] Writing up some deeds

[00:03:01] He said, "Let's set up a fort

[00:03:01] And start buying the place with beads"

[00:03:01] Just then this cop comes down the street

[00:03:01] Crazy as a loon

[00:03:01] He throws us all in jail

[00:03:01] For carryin' harpoons

[00:03:01] Ah me I busted out

[00:03:01] Don't even ask me how

[00:03:01] I went to get some help

[00:03:01] I walked by a Guernsey cow

[00:03:01] Who directed me down

[00:03:01] To the Bowery slums

[00:03:01] Where people carried signs around

[00:03:01] Saying, "Ban the bums"

[00:03:01] I jumped right into line

[00:03:01] Sayin', "I hope that I'm not late"

[00:03:01] When I realized I hadn't eaten

[00:03:01] For five days straight

[00:03:01] I went into a restaurant

[00:03:01] Lookin' for the cook

[00:03:01] I told them I was the editor

[00:03:01] Of a famous etiquette book

[00:03:01] The waitress he was handsome

[00:03:01] He wore a powder blue cape

[00:03:01] I ordered some suzette, I said

[00:03:01] "Could you please make that crepe"

[00:03:01] Just then the whole kitchen exploded

[00:03:01] From boilin' fat

[00:03:01] Food was flying everywhere

[00:03:01] I left without my hat

[00:03:01] Now, I didn't mean to be nosy

[00:03:01] But I went into a bank

[00:03:01] To get some bail for Arab

[00:03:01] And all the boys back in the tank

[00:03:01] They asked me for some collateral

[00:03:01] And I pulled down my pants

[00:03:01] They threw me in the alley

[00:03:01] When up comes this girl from France

[00:03:01] Who invited me to her house

[00:03:01] I went, but she had a friend

[00:03:01] Who knocked me out

[00:03:01] And robbed my boots

[00:03:01] And I was on the street again

[00:03:01] Well, I rapped upon a house

[00:03:01] With the U.S. flag upon display

[00:03:01] I said, "Could you help me out

[00:03:01] I got some friends down the way"

[00:03:01] The man says, "Get out of here

[00:03:01] I'll tear you limb from limb"

[00:03:01] I said, "You know they refused Jesus, too"

[00:03:01] He said, "You're not Him

[00:03:01] Get out of here before I break your bones

[00:03:01] I ain't your pop"

[00:03:01] I decided to have him arrested

[00:03:01] And I went looking for a cop

[00:03:01] I ran right outside

[00:03:01] I hopped inside a cab

[00:03:01] I went out the other door

[00:03:01] This Englishman said, "Fab"

[00:03:01] As he saw me leap a hot dog stand

[00:03:01] And a chariot that stood

[00:03:01] Parked across from a building

[00:03:01] Advertising brotherhood

[00:03:01] I ran right through the front door

[00:03:01] Like a hobo sailor does

[00:03:01] But it was just a funeral parlor

[00:03:01] And the man asked me who I was

[00:03:01] I repeated that my friends

[00:03:01] Were all in jail, with a sigh

[00:03:01] He gave me his card

[00:03:01] He said, "Call me if they die"

[00:03:01] I shook his hand and said goodbye

[00:03:01] Ran out to the street

[00:03:01] When a bowling ball came down the road

[00:03:01] And knocked me off my feet

[00:03:01] A pay phone was ringing

[00:03:01] And it just about blew my mind

[00:03:01] When I picked it up and said hello

[00:03:01] This foot came through the line

[00:03:01] Well, by this time I was fed up

[00:03:01] At tryin' to make a stab

[00:03:01] At bringin' back any help

[00:03:01] For my friends and Captain Arab

[00:03:01] I decided to flip a coin

[00:03:01] Like either heads or tails

[00:03:01] Would let me know if I should go

[00:03:01] Back to ship or back to jail

[00:03:01] So I hocked my sailor suit

[00:03:01] And I got a coin to flip

[00:03:01] It came up tails

[00:03:01] It rhymed with sails

[00:03:01] So I made it back to the ship

[00:03:01] Well, I got back and took

[00:03:01] The parkin' ticket off the mast

[00:03:01] I was ripping it to shreds

[00:03:01] When this coastguard boat went past

[00:03:01] They asked me my name

[00:03:01] And I said, "Captain Kidd"

[00:03:01] They believed me but

[00:03:01] They wanted to know

[00:03:01] What exactly that I did

[00:03:01] I said for the Pope of Eruke

[00:03:01] I was employed

[00:03:01] They let me go right away

[00:03:01] They were very paranoid

[00:03:01] Well, the last I heard of Arab

[00:03:01] He was stuck on a whale

[00:03:01] That was married to the deputy

[00:03:01] Sheriff of the jail

[00:03:01] But the funniest thing was

[00:03:01] When I was leavin' the bay

[00:03:01] I saw three ships a-sailin'

[00:03:01] They were all heading my way

[00:03:01] I asked the captain what his name was

[00:03:01] And how come he didn't drive a truck

[00:03:01] He said his name was Columbus

[00:03:01] I just said, "Good luck."
